Marriage or Kustoms? ! [message #2457] Thu, 13 February 2003 08:37 Go to next message

Well...it was a tough decision boys...there I sat with a rather large dowry in the white envelop from the bank teller...so large that she really didn't want to give it to me...took me into the private room to count it out, etc...then, and I love this part...after making such an official looking fuss over me...as I'm walking out and say goodbye, she says. "be careful"..right in front of all the prospective hoodlums, bank robbers, and muggers standing in line!..but to my point...so there I am with my hard earned greenbacks...thinking of my sweet little daughter whom I will soon give away to a nice upstanding young man (even plays a bit of guitar)...all those years I changed her nasty diapers, wiped her snotty nose, caught her smoking and lying about it, argued endless hours trying to explain "Why nots" and broke my back moving her into her various appartments..I thought for a few more moments about all those sparkly rigs on ebay..hmmm...yep..could get that one, and the other one...heck two of those!...could by whosit's entire collection!..yeah...wonder if my daughter would mind having her reception in Kansas...we could have an all kustoms band made up with the guys coming to the reunion...then my wife snapped me out of it and we headed to my little girls house where I handed that little white envelop over in trade for flowers, dresses, shoes, photos, cake, preacher, even musicians (god I hate to pay for those guys!)...in return I got a big ol hug and one of the last kisses on the cheek from my little girl...guess I made out ok....but for a few fleeting tuck n roll seconds..it was fun to ponder my options.

Ed, I feel for you man. I have my oldest in college now and I am dreading the whole marriage thing.......AND, the thought of what all of that $$ could be unloaded for--BUT, nothing compares to the love of a daughter, huh?? I don't think so.....even that sparkly Kustom we all covet....S/FI, Keith

actually..BC...what we need to do is hook your son up with my younger daughter in a few years...we'd have the combined legacy of kollections to pass onto a single thread..and both father of the groom and Dad of the daughter could play at the reception!...course given that I figure you and I are still likely the resulting twins from a secret government experiment..our kids probably shouldn't get that involved! Seriously..and I need to bear witness..God has so greatly blessed this ol dog.. I've got the complete kustom collection I always dreamed of..and managed to feed and cloth my kids at the sames time...found weekend time with them, and still managed to get some nights on stage for rock n roll..played guitar for my biggest hero, but even more importantly played in our own band with my wife and son..God has placed me before thousands every week as their worship leader, but more precious were the evenings on the sofa with my daughters playing our acoustics together... and yeah.. I've got the shirt that says "I met Bud Ross"..but the crank was that my family was there with me...sharing so graciously in my dream..knowing how much it meant to me...and then there's you bunch of krazies...I love all the toys that I have...but it wouldn't matter all that much if I didn't have folks to share with...that special feeling of utter lust when you look at all that tuck n roll...don't know what it is...can't explain it...just glad there's others out there who understand...Ya'll Play Loud!
