Inside my K200A-2 are two gigantic 4500uF (50V) can caps, with screw terminals on the top. I'm sure this is common in all/most Kustoms from that era. My question - does a suitable replacement for these exist? I'm sure I could find some 4500uF (50V) caps, but I'm thinking more about something in the same or similar form factor?

I don't necessarily have any reason to think they're bad per se, but one measures 6536uF and the other 5340uF on my Fluke, so they're at least a bit out of spec.

I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything. Maybe my searching skills need improving. Thanks in advance!

Mouser electronics has replacement can filters.
There part number is CG452U050V4C, there 45 bucks each.
Yes, can caps are computer grade filters and priced as such.

Perfect! Those should work just fine. If I do end up replacing them, do you have any tips for how to mount them? The existing caps are 2.5" diameter, and the replacements are 2". Ideally I'd prefer to not drill any new holes, so I'm thinking maybe some padding of some sort around the new caps so I can use the existing 2.5" bracket? Otherwise I guess I'd need new 2" brackets, but I have no idea where to source something like that.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

...I guess maybe Mouser part VR8B would be the bracket to go for if I wanted a new one. But if there are any good ideas/advice for ways to just keep using the old 2.5" brackets, I'm all ears!

A piece of PVC works too.
