Exact dates are difficult....simply no records as far as I know! My best guess would be 1970......plus or minus a year! BC

yeah...really the serial number tells me less than cetain cosmetics..even on the cabs...if its an amp head...look for the model with an A or B, also on the face there will be a "by Ross inc." on the older model A units...on the cabs..the quickest way is to look at the ports...the big 2x15 cabs, if they have ports, will either be older brushed aluminum with 3 screws on the face, or polished chrome with black port inserts. and the faceplate will say either "By Ross Inc." or "Kustom Electronics." Kustom Elec rigs initially had polished chrome logo plates and late models used a cut metal look instead. Tell us what ya got in cosmetic terms against these hints and we can get you closer.....ET

One thing I have learned about serial numbers is that the "A" series ended somewhere in the 26xxx-27xxx range.....and I could be off a thousand. The "B" series started then. If everyone would check their 200's we could get a good idea of where the break actually is! There are some other features that show up on the "A" series amps such as smooth instead of faceted pilot lights and thick round nuts on the power switches. Notice I said "show up" .......after all these years some things have changed...and I imagine parts supply caused some changes. ALso the "A" series heads have five screws holding them in their cases instead of the four screws the "B" series heads used. I am certain Your amp is a "B" series......just by the number. BC

My blue K200B-1 is serial number 37660, and I've checked the dates on the pots and they date from the second week of 1969 to the 20th. Maybe that will help somewhat?

For SN 43277 my guess would be May to July 1969

OK, youse guys asked for it..... Here's my stash K200 Frankenstein serial 6008 K200a2 no plate K200a2 serial 24668, has round switch nut K200b2 serial 32088 K200b5 serial 34245 All my cabs are slant, Frank 3x15 has no ports visible, both 2x15 cabs have alunimum ports. Colors Cascade, Blue, Black, Black and Black Oh yeah, there's a KIII-L in the mix, too. Not a big collection, by any stretch of the imagination, but can't use the dining room for dining anymore.....Ah but the aroma of sparkling Naughahyde and Armor-All is invigarating. And just for fun, my guitar player's Fender croaked last weekend during a dance, and of course, being the buddy I am, loaned him a spare K200 to use the rest of the night. He just looked much more "KOOOL" with that Kustom behind him...Need I say more? Thrill Bill
