Hi everybody, I'm new here, my name is Mathias and I'm from Belgium, i'm about to buy a second hand Kustom Lead III head with a 4x12" cabinet from another brand (London City) for 350euro (=350$) and I have trouble finding information about this head. Is it a tube amp or a transistor amp? Does it sound good, what are the channels and effects? Things like that. Hope someone can help me out and convince me to buy it (or not). Greetz, Mathias

If it is the newer one with the big "K" on the front, I can't help. But on the other hand, if it is the one that says "Kustom III" in script writing, I can help, as I have one. It is transistor, 130 watts RMS power, both channels have high and low inputs (I normally use the low), volume, bass, middle, treble controls. The lead channel also has tremelo speed and depth, and reverb. There is also a master volume control. Mine sounds very clean. I hope this answers your question. Bill

thx for the info,on the following link there's a picture of it http://www.gitaarmarkt.nl/index.php?ct=gitvers&md=details&id=12889 , can you tell me if it goes loud enough to have a good sound in a (pretty loud) band? and what do you think of the price which is 350 including a 4x12" cab (rcf speakers, can't find any info bout them either)?

Hi Mathias, I went on the http://www.gitaarmarkt website but I could not find ad# 12889. I had trouble too because I only know one language (Hey, I thought music was a universal language). Anyway 130 watts is enough for most guitarists, unless the band is playing very loud. In bands I have been in, the guitarists were plenty loud enough; their amps ranged from 40 to 100 watts. Before buying, I would run the amp for at least 15 to 20 minutes to see if it has any problems. Make sure each of the 4 speakers work with no rattles. If it all works well and it is in average shape cosmetically, it should be worth 350. RCF is known (in the U.S.) as a high-end sound reinforcement (PA) speaker. It has been available as an option in Sonic, Yorkville, and other PA cabinets. In my experience, use in guitar cabinets is not common here in the U.S. The company was bought by Mackie Designs a few years ago. For more info, try http://www.voyagerpro.com/links.htm or search for “RCF speaker”. Hope this helps, Les Strickland
