Woodson Amps Made by Kustom? [message #3132] Tue, 30 September 2003 12:07 Go to next message

There is a Woodson amp on eBay right now, and the seller says that Woodsons were made by Kustom to get around some kind of dealer agreement. Any of you know if this is true or not?

rumors aside...the woodson product takes us into the later years of the original Kustom name while it was under the Baldwin company rule..Bud Ross was long out of the picture and making is second round of millions with his Byrdview Satellite systems...Kustom Electronics Inc was still pumping out radars and our beloved tuck n roll was fading fast from the scene. You'll see a very similar chasis if you open up a Woodson..and I've no doubt that Baldwin was using leftover parts and schemas to make other tries at the amp market...at this time I had seen a black tolex kustom with silver vertical striping..almost a Peavey or Earth look, the Kasino line was out and I had already taken my tuck n roll toys off to college where finances allowed for the occasional pizza..but no additional amp shopping, and with no tuck n roll in the music stores anyway, I just lost interest in going down to the local music store..kept polishing my old faithfuls and playing them on weekends...30 years later...Woodson means nothing, Kasino means nothing, and the new crap that the new kustom logo holders produce mean nothing..but my old tuck n roll still shines, still looks like new, still plays great and has more value (and more screws!!) than anything on the market.
