K250-2 Reverb Tank repair tip [message #4138] Wed, 28 April 2004 12:36 VinceG2 Messages: 26 Registered: April 2004 Junior Member The reverb section on this amp had never worked since I've owned it. This morning, I decided to open up the tank and check it out. The reason the tank was not working, was because the label had curled up onto the springs. Also, the lock has rubber where it touches the springs. The inner area of rubber had become gooey. I taped the label down, and cleaned up the goo, put it all back together, and it now works! So if anyone here has this same unit with the reverb not working, you may want to see if the label has curled up also. I posted a couple of pictures of before and after, here: http://home.earthlink.net/~vinceg2/reverb.html Testing with a meter before, gave a reading of 25.8 Ohms on the Input, 177.6 Ohms on the output. Afterward, it was still 25.8 Ohms on the input, and changed slightly to 177.4 Ohms on the output. Very negligible, so the label didn't effect the readings, they just stopped them from vibrating. The label has the following info: REVERBERATION UNIT (various patent numbers...) GIBBS SPECIAL PRODUCTS COPERATION Janesville, Wisconsin Subsidiary of Hammond Corporation On the side of the tank, the number 031-0047-01 stamped in blue ink, and 1122 stamped into the metal. The tank itself measures about 16 3/4 inches long by 3 and 1/8th inches from top to bottom where the screw holes are. Report message to a moderator
