Hi,
Does anyone know the specs on the pot inside the boost pedal?

or...

Could one of You lucky people who owns a boost pedal put a multimeter on it?
What I need is resistance measurements when pedal is tilted all the way back, tilted all the way forward, and half way tilted.

This info would send me into building a wah...
I gotta spend my vacation doin' something, and why not a wha... Razz

HI,As a guess I would start with a 25k pot to be on the safe side, or find out with a couiple of pots how high and low in value you can go with out your basic non wha tone changing. Then its just a matter for getting a value that gives the wha sweep range you want. But I do hope someone can tell you from their pedal and save you a bunch of time. Of course if its raining on your vacation why not play around, you could put a switch in to give you to ranges of wha sweep!.

Hi,
That's not a bad idea at all...

I'll get 2 pots (probably 25 and 10 to have some combinations) and play around and maybe there'll even be dual ranges when I'm done.
The rain is really pouring down over here, so there's a good chance this'll work when I'm done.
If the sun comes out of hibernation... I'll sit outside and finish it... Cool

But as You say, I'm still hoping for measurements from a lucky pedal owner. Experimenting is fun, but correct values are probably better.
I can always use what I come up with as the second range.. Smile

Well, gotta go and get a couple of pots...

While not Kustom, I did a check on yahoo for wah, potentiometers and schematics and came up with this page, showing a 100k pot for wah-wah pedals in general:

http://www.happybob.com/marc/music_gear.htm

They also have a page talking about how to do alignment for them, here:

http://www.happybob.com/marc/pot_adjustment_procedure.htm

finally, http://fulltone.com/wah_talk.asp shows how to add a true bypass to Vox, Dunlop, Crybaby, and Thomas wah-wah pedals showing schematics.

Hope that is of some help to you.

Hi,

I must have been blind when i disassembled the amp last.
There is a full schematic of amp and pedals glued to the inside of the cover plate...
The pot is a 10K.

I tried it out and it works fine with 10K, although I was surprised that the selection switch on the front panel was still active, selecting how "high" the pedal pot could go...
(And thereby totally making the boost pedal obsolete when the switch is on 1 or 2.)
I assume that is the case also when using an original pedal?

Thanks for the tips on how to build the mechanics for the wah-pedal!
To get that working is the big hurdle right now...
The rest is just a case of getting started (the sun is out today.. Confused )

Since the pedals will not be or look original anyways the current plan is to make an integrated 4-switch and wah pedal, a bit like the multieffect floorboards with shape pedal out there.
In that way I can use a 7-wire cord (3 x tip + ring, and common sleeve) to connect the whole thing.

Well well, gotta start drawing on how to build the rest..
