Hi all,
the footswitchcord (reverb/tremolo)for my K200 B-4 seems to be broken.Sometimes there is sound and sometimes not. It seems to be the cord and not the switch that is broken. I guees I´ll have to get another cord but does anyone who knows the correct wiring? The plug is molded so I can not find out how to do thw wiring.I tried with the footswitch for my Kustom TRT 100 reissue but it does not work.
Thanks

Hi there!

What kind of plug do You have on the cord?
Is it a tip-ring-sleeve plug, or even a mono plug, or something completely different?

I have tip-ring-sleeve jacks on my 250-4, where tip and ring controls one effect each and sleeve is return.
When the circuit is closed the effect is off, for example if the tip-wire is connected to the sleeve-wire that effect is not on. When the circuit is broken the effect is on again.
The same for effect 2 when connecting ring-wire to sleeve-wire.
When there is no footswitch connected to the amp tip, ring and sleeve are not connected and all effects are on...

Does this sound familiar?

Your TRT 100 footswitch may be a momentary contact switches for the newer head and tht will not work with the older K200 head. The K200B-4 used two footswitches and are wired identical, the only difference is the label. The tip ring sleeve plug is wired, tip to one lug of the first SPST switch, the ring to one lug of the second SPST switch, the sleeve is wired to both remaining lugs of the two switches. As long as the amp is in good working order without connecting a footswitch, the repaired cord on yours will work fine. You may have to swap the switches around to match the label.

Hi, The TRT series footswitches have LED indicators and that is what keeps the footswitch from working with the old models. If you were to disconnect the LED's the switch would work. The switches are maintained push-push switches, just like the old ones.

P.S. I am in Russia on business and have very limited internet access. Even then I find time to catch up with the Kustom guys. This stuff is better than porn Embarassed
