Announcing the appearance of Kustom founder Bud Ross at the "Worlds Largest Guitar Show" in Arlington, Texas on October 16th & 17th. Please visit http://www.texasguitarshows.com/Arlington04.htm or email Bryan Sawyer at bsawyer@fluid-aire.com or Neil Leverenz at neilleverenz@hotmail.com for more information. This event is co-sponsored by Vintage Guitar Magazine, which will be advertising the event and interviewing Bud for a future issue.

There will be a group of kollectors there, some of which are familliar names you see on this site, and a few local Dallas/Fort Worth kollectors that will have over 300 square feet of space filled with a large display of vintage Kustom guitars, amps, organs & microphones. It will no doubt be the most colorful booth there!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the man that created what we are all so addicted to, tuck-n-roll!

If you would like to be placed on the email list to receive more information as it becomes available, send me an email and I will be glad to add you to it. I also have a list of nearby hotels for you to choose from.

Thanks, and we hope to see you there!

Bryan Sawyer

Guys... I can't say enough to convince you all to come to this get together....
Nashville was one of the better experiences of my lifetime...the sense of anticipation of actually seeing so many of the amps in person...rigs that I had only seen in pictures or heard about...but the next surprise for me was when we all started arriving and actually meeting each other face to face for the first time...we had spent so much time online that there was a familiarity...we didn't have to waste time getting to know each other...we already did...it was a unique experience that Friday night as we all started rolling in and one kustom amp after another was unloaded...the look on the face of the show dealers was priceless as they just watched all these rigs keep coming..everyone came over to check em out...and that night in the motel room might as well have been christmas eve.. I laid awake most of the night and watched the clock as 5 am, then 6 am rolled around and it was finally time to get up and go down for breakfast.. I found that every single one of us had done the same thing..laying there awake predawn like kids waiting for the allowed time to get up and see what santa had brought...we were all wired...The show was in full force that morning...and we all were enjoying checking out the gear...but unspoken was the anticipation that Bud's flight was due in the next hour. BC and I headed over to the airport with my family in tow and we waited at the plane's gate for Bud to step off.. My youngest daughter Megan was holding onto a Naughy Kat that would serve as the welcome sign for Bud and when he stepped off the plane and saw that krazy kat he just beamed...came over and gave us all a big hug like he was Grandpa...he talked all the way from the airport to the show and as we entered the showroom and walked around the dealer tables towards the back, I had him pause at a dealer's booth to check out a couple kustoms that the dealer had brought..Bud patiently and attentively looked the gear over and it was then that I began to suspect that he was thinking that this was all there was...see several dealers had brought some kustom rigs cause they knew we were coming and so there were bits of tuck n roll scattered all around and I think Bud was thinking this was the show..youcouldn't see the back wall from where we were...then we rounded the corner and there was 100 ft of kustoms 3 rows deep and the gang standing their like some cadet review waiting for our leader...Bud had to pull his glasses off and wipe his eyes.. I'm tellin ya guys..its one of those life moments. We all greeted..then he immediately started telling stories and looking at rigs and spent the rest of the day on his feet patiently and lovingly listening and sharing with each and everyone of us...every amp, every kustom dream was important to him.
We jammed on the gear that evening..kustoms screaming all over the place...then went to dinner and listened to even more personal stories from Bud..including intimate tales of Smokey and Bud's Dad.. I'm chokin just typing this.....
Then we closed down the hotel bar and sat in the dark with Bud, none of us wanting this special day to be over...Sunday was great as well as we wrapped things up..did some serious horse trading and took Bud back to the airport...plenty of autographs from the man who gave us the coolest gear that rock n roll has ever seen..and some really great time together with some very good men that all share an unfathom'd love for these amps.
Its been a hell of a year for me..loosing my job...darn near loosing my home..starting a new business in hopes of surviving and making the life change that comes with the loss of a 27 year career... I am truly struggling to find themeans to make it TX but if I can't make it I just want to urge the rest of you..its not for lack of desire that I may not be there...you will remember this weekend the rest of your life....ya know Bud made his kustoms with a lifetime warranty...and the cool thing about them is that whatever the mysterious reason for our affections for them...the passion as well as the gear has lasted my lifetime.... Kool endures....now ya'll get yer ass to Texas... n Play Loud! ET

Hi guys,
Right now I'm in Russia and I will be home in time for my son, Craig's wedding on the 16th. Family ties being what they are, if I missed the wedding, well you know what I mean. Linda and I discussed the upcoming bash and if it weren't that weekend, we would have come. I really, really, REALLY would have loved to attend and I know the feelings ET is talking about. We still get questions from people on the origins of these padded monsters. It is easy to tell them that the rigs are older than they are. That really freaks them. These amps are not just sound increasers, they are FAMILY!!!!!!! Very Happy Have a great time and play loud for those of us who can't make it.
