Hey all... I'm new to the boards...
Have been using a Kustom 150 w/ 2x12... Model 2-12G-2.
The blue sparkle type,
And have never found much about them until now.

Ihave to say, I love this amp,
Especially since I got it for only $300, a few years ago.

We all know how much a nice head and cab can cost nowadays.

I've since taken off the back panel of the cabinet,
To cut down on the bass response...

Anyways, I'm just hoping to find anything special I should do to make sure I keep this guy in great condition as it is now.

I play punk/metal and
Just love how easy it is
To get that 70's punk sound with this amp.

Cool Welcome aboard mate! Cheers! I find that going back into this websites older posts will show you almost anything you need to all but build a Vintage Kustom Amp and keep the one you own Blasting out the jams forever Loud. I highly suggest you take some time and read the past chronicles of Kustom Vintage Time action posted here for all to see all. There are tons of great tips here from some really great people!

hey Disposable...welcome to the greatest bunch on the planet!

so glad the young guns have taken the kustoms into the next world..

on removing your back...I'd urge you to consider making a new backboard that is mostly closed but that has some air slots on it..if you look at the kustom 4x12 cab from the same era as your 2x12 model..or any of the little combo amps you'll see they had some nice slot ports that allowed the cab to breath and have a more open sound while still getting the resonance of the cab wood. you could even get some blue sparkle material from the uniroyal folks that make the naughahyde...many auto upholsterers carry or can get the stuff in small amounts for you..might not be a perfect match, but since its on the back side..it'd still look great and protect those speakers. other than that..there's a product like Armor All called 303 that can be found at any boat supply shop like a West Marine...its great for protecting the material, keeping it soft so it won't split and adds a UV protection that Armor All does not...will help keep the blue...blue...welcome again....so glad to have you...

Cool, thanks for the tips...
I still have the back in close vicinity...
Actually I've angled it so it still protects
And offers some reflections... Just not enough to be "bassy."

Haha, yeah, I am a young'un...
In fact this amp is 10 years older than I am.
