Hello. All I have to say is get a K200 B-6 with selectone and hook it up to one Jensen 2x15 and one CTS 2x15, you just might cry with joy. On top of being FRICKEN LOUD, it sounds great for both guitar and bass, distorted and clean. I think I need to buy my friends CTS 2x15 from him.... My question is, the Jensen 2x15 (mine) sounds good for bass (with this amp only, i've found), but can it take it for an extended period of time? I heard these work well on organs, so I guess they can, but that's a guess. I noticed it doesn't play quite as low as the CTS cab (only noticeable difference is there is less air blowing out of the ports), but they sounded identical otherwise. I'll probably use this more for guitar than bass since I have a bass stack powered by an Ampeg SVT 350, but this setup sounds amazing for both bass and guitar, very handy since I switch between the two frequently. So, can the Jensens take the heat or should they get out of the kitchen? Thanks!!

An interesting mix of Jensens and CTS. Kustom sold the Jensens only in Guitar amps (their entry level speaker) and the CTS in Bass (again the entry level speaker). Smile

Hey V3, I know your a Bass player but I'll put my Kustom 69' Columns up againt Any Guitar Cabs. Twisted Evil 4X12 Towers have 2 each 69' CTS with silver dome caps, one each 71' CTS with paper domes, and one each Madison Symphony in the bottom. All 16 oHmers. The 69's puts out stinging highs and the 71 and Madisons punch out the mids and bottoms enough to shake the windows and anything loose in the room. Cool

I love the pic..especially the way those kustoms dwarf that marshall full stack.. (I know..its a micro..but somehow it just looks way kool)...the pic may be blurred..but did you recover those columns and not pleat em?....htey look odd in the pic..

but yeah..that speaker combination ought to make them incredibly strong and the height puts them right where you want for ripping your head off...way ta go!

Ed, Click on the pic and it should zoom out to be bigger for your old eyes to see? Unless your PC is as old as you or Go get your magnifing glass or put your reading glasses on! Laughing Yeah, In 1989 I had a Navy berber who went to upholstery college courses and he offered to recover my torn up Red Sparkle Kustoms set for free but wouldn't do the T&R. I bought the smooth gloss black vinyl and he did all 3 Kustom pieces plus he did my 2 Kenwood 777D speakers so they would all match in black. I was doing some DJ stuff for private parties back then and the Kustoms matching up with the big Kenwoods and a killer Marantz receiver amp make an excellent PA set up for DJ tune action. That's one of the Kenwoods under the Ohio/China Kustom Quad 100. It makes a good stand to get the Kustom Quad off the floor plus it's hooked up to the TV stereo surround sound receiver on the other side of the room. You are so right! I should take a pic with just the mini-stack sitting inside the towers and then send it to the Marshall berbers? Twisted Evil

you young wippersnappin, snot nose suckin, skateboard ridin punk..probably still covered in clearacil and praying for the day when puberty passes you by...baggy short wearin....my eyes are just fine thank you (as long as I have my glasses on)...but yeah, cool on the kustom recover..you should add maybe some chrome logo, like the truck driver mudflap girl silohuets or something to set off that much smooth vinyl...or better yet...get yerself a magic marker and ruler and draw the tucknroll lines on the sides...shade it for some dimensionality...that's dimension, not dimentia (dem..?...old guy brain farts)...ok...enough pickin...yeah...do take a pic with just the marshall quivering in the shadow of those towering monsters..love it!..and can't wait to come to your house and watch some movies with that sound system!

Hello. I am a bass player, but I've actually been playing guitar longer. I've been playing bass since I was eleven, and guitar since I was seven (am I'm 17 now...man i've been playing for a while now!), and I play a bunch of other instruments too (I play trombone in marching/symphonic band at school, ukulele, banjo and mandolin for fun, and I also experiment with keyboards on rare occasion). But yeah, those are some great columns, I have a pair of CTS loaded Fender 4x10 columns that work well for guitar or vocals. Speaking of which, my band played at a basketball game at school last night and my Kustoms made an appearance. The guitar amps were my full stack (Kustom K200A5 running an Orange and a Crate 4x12), my friend's Line 6 Vetta and a Sonic 4x12 (he's going to sell that amp, he doesn't like it, i'm making him get a Kustom Very Happy), and an Ampeg SS140C driving a 4x10 Madison loaded Sonic cab. The bass amp was an Ampeg SVT350 and a Crate 4x10 and 1x15. The PA was a pair of Kustom CTS 2x15's, the Fender 4x10 columns, a pair of 1x15" PA cabs and a pair of 1x12" PA cabs, powered by a 350 watt (175 per side) power amp for mains and a 100 watt for monitors. So yeah, I have a lot of stuff; all of the above is mine minus the Vetta setup and the Kustom 2x15's that are (unfortunately, I wish they were mine) on loan. For guitars I used a Epiphone G-310 with a late 70's les paul neck on it that I rebuilt after my friend smashed it and a (also) previously smashed (also by my friend, I get stuff from him for free or cheap, so I don't mind, keep 'em coming!) early '90's Fender Strat with the SG's original neck; yeah, I know, a strat with an SG neck and an SG with a les paul neck, but they sound great despite their amatuer looks (the strat was a light blue that my friend half sanded down to the olive drab primer, and I put my version of a Fender competition stripe on both guitars). Even though I have two nice Fender Jazz basses (one fretless), I used a Squier P-bass for the low end, it sounds remarkably good with the SVT and, of course, my Kustom K200-B6 at home. My dad took some pics of us, so maybe I can get those on the computer soon if anyone would like to see 14 speaker cabinets and 5 amp heads in one shot. Cool stuff!

Still Waiting on those Cool V3 Rig pics???? Confused Rolling Eyes
I think I'll go get some Chrome paint for my 71 CTS speakers cones like the other guys were talking about? You can never get enough Chrome on the domes like Ed's head??? Laughing Was in San Diego last week and picked up a real sweet vintage 1X12 (30X21X14) wooden 1950 or 60's speaker cab, a 74 Marantz 2220 and a 73 Harmon Kardon A330 refurbed stereo receivers. Will probably install a 71 CTS into the cab when it gets here. I think I will also make a matching wood cabinet for my Kustom B-1 bass head to go with this cab.
