In the "Literature" section, under "Other T&R", in the "Combos" there is info on the Kustom SC Series. Does anyone know anything about the 1-15 SC or the 1-15AB SC, besides what is in the literature section? Has anyone ever played with them? How do they sound? Does anyone have one and, if so, are you willing to sell or trade?

I have played them, and they are made and sound just as good as other Kustoms. In fact their is a hustler bass amp for sale on ebay right now.

Hey revbassman,
I used to have a Charger which is similar to the 1-15 SC.
(The Charger is a later model tuck & roll bass amp with the metal face amplifier - not plexi.)
It sounds great for guitar. For bass, you should try it before you buy it to make sure the bass response goes deep enough for you.
The Charger (1x15) speaker enclosure is 3.1 cubic feet internal volume.
The Kustom 2 x12 cabinet is 3.5 cu ft and the 2 x 15 cabinet is 5.4 cu ft.
So with the average speaker, the bass output is what you would expect from a medium size cabinet.
For example, flat response from A (55 Hz) down to low E (41 Hz) is not possible unless you have a separate EQ. The amp's bass control (approx 100 Hz) won't help you.

I have had two of the SC 150 single 15 bass amps. Both sounded really good....but I would only want to use one in a lower volume setting. (not what you want for LOUD rock) I do not think the cabinet has enough volume (space) to really do it justice. You could use one with an extension cabinet and probably do quite well. Kustom Dan had one with an Altec that sounded far better and louder than my CTS loaded amps. Nothing wrong with the tone! I also found the amp awkward to move....easy to roll around , and it makes a great seat....but HEAVY and wide for one man to load in a car or truck. If it could be left in a rehearsal place...or church...or a house band setting it would be great. BC

I own the original SC100 1x15. It really is a sweet rig to practice with..loud enough to keep up with a drummer in the basement rehearsal sessions. Good tone...deep tone..I think it has a well designed air space
I have used it on many a small wedding/corp gig as it was enough...but most other times she couldn't keep up if I was sideman on a stage that lacked proper PA to boost my lows out front (old days boys..) so it stayed home a lot...then about 1987, in the midst of my impoverished days...my wife and I started playing small country clubs as a duo midi act with that technology just coming into its own...I still played in a full 6 piece live band...but the midi duo thing was a great money maker and it all came to our house...anyway..all I had in the way of a PA system was a pair of 4x8 kustom columns, added little Radio Shack piezos on top 2 per side cluster, and drove those with a Peavey 5 channel 150rms powered Pa system...I took a line out of that PA, ran it into a Boss bass eq pedal and then that went into the kustom... I swapped the old CTS speaker out for a poly cone subwoofer and voila! instant mini PA...we played regularly at 4 different clubs...rich folks, small dance floors..usually no more than about 15-30 couples on the floor and it was plenty of volume for them .. I would usually point the bass amp at the back wall to get some dispursion and really..the darn system sounded decent..made a lot of money for several years off of that gear...still have the amp, but have now restored it to its proper duty by loading an Altec 421A in there..looks so good with that chrome dome shining through the grill...the rig actually has the ability to go very low..lower than the current 1x15 combos..and the amp is quite dynamic and able to do a nice wet job with an active bass...I love it..and its the coolest cause it was the only SC model to have the chrome ports..just way cool..ya gotta get one...
