I have a kustom bass cab with 2 JBL D140-F in them.I want to replace the JBL'S with a pair of 15in altec 418-b.My problem is that i can't seem to get the JBL'S out'I took off all of the nuts but the speaker seem glued to the board. They won't budge.Anyone ever took out these speakers.THANKS ROCKBOB
Speakers are not normally glued-in.
What I would do is - with the cabinet facing down, use a large screwdriver and gently try to pry it loose.
Good luck.

I had one like that once, but not in a kustom, and it was put down with sealer although yours should not. What I did was to get a automotive drum break adjusting tool, which is like a small crow bar. I ground the 90 degree bent end sharper and used a small hammer to start it under the speaker frame in two locations to pop it free.
I gave up.I will just keep the cab as original with its JBL140F in it.They are sealed in so why mess it up.Also the back was also sealed with some black caulk. They really made these cabs tight.I found another bottom for my altecs. Thanks for your all's help also.ROCKBOB
