I have found that the schematic and board layout for the PC702 board in a K200A-1 is very close to the schematic and layout of a 400 watt PC704A. Just about all transistor placements and part numbers are the same. Sure came in handy when troubleshooting my K200A-1.

Just a quick note......My K200A-1 has a voltage regulator that supplies 26 volts to the pre-amp boards. I kept thinking that something was wrong as the later models all use an 8volt + or - voltage regulator. This amp works great now that I have gone through it and replaced missing and non-working parts. I took a chance and powered up with the 26 volts to the pre-amps and it sounds very good!
Hi guys.
New to the site.
I have an old K200A-1 head and I burnt a few transistors/resistors to the point of being unrecognizable. Don't ask how I did it. Jackchapman and Stevem - you guys seem to have some schematics for this. I've looked everywhere on the web and I can't find schematics for this amp. I've even tried on this site. I need to bring'er back to life. Can you guys help?

What are the board numbers you need the schematics for? If I do not have them you can I guy named Bob Monday in Ohio at SSI industries. 516 761 2677 231 north bend rd cincinatti OH 45216. He will need the board numbers also.

Jody,
I have the same head....the schematics from a 400 watt head has almost the exact boards and parts as the one you have. I can e-mail you copies of the schematics that I have. I also can tell you the part numbers of the transistors if you send me a close picture of the board.......also need the board number from the face of the circuit board. Will be PC107, PC702, etc.
Jack
thanks for the info. Check your e-mail for my address.
As a side note, I plan to try using that head for vocals... do you guys think it might work?

yes, it will work for vocals but it may sound a little toppy and boomy at the same time due to the EQ difference from the real PA model and the instrument model. If you have or can get one of those MXR brand graphic EQ stomp boxes, that may be a cure if the tone thing does not work out straight in with a mic.

Jody, I had already sent the schematic, but I sent it again today..3/27/06. If you do not receive the e-mail with the attachment, let me know and I can mail you a copy.
do you still have a schmatic for the PC702 board. I could sure use a copy. I am working on a k200A-1 a fella gave me, for nothing.
thanks
