Yes, not Kustom but similar in looks. Pretty much from 1968 to about 1974 these amps were made first in NYC then California. Only the small ones were similar to the Fenders (and these used transistors for the tremolo), but the big ones were unique designs. Cool amps, more like a couch than a 57 chevy interior.

I must disagree, my friend has the whatever big model plush head with 4 6L6GC output tubes, 2 channels and reverb, and circuit wise its a Fender twin reverb and the model that started the law suite that fender had against plush. How do I know its a fender twin reverb. I repaired the amp when the first got it twenty years ago. The reverb driver transformer was bad and the fender transformer is a match, plus I have the schematic for the amp. If they used triad brand power and output transformers like fender did at that time the plush would be a 98 percent match. They where Just another 60s company trying to combine the sucess of Fender and Kustom into may be their own sucess.

I cant blame them for tryin though, and the models I have played thru sound great, plus if you are into tube amps and would like to have what amounts to a pre CBS fender twin for 1/4 the price the 1000 model I think it is makes a great buy.

Some of those are pretty close (if not exact) Fender clones, but I also have one that uses transistors for some parts of the circuitry (I think the tremolo) which Fender did not do at the time. The transformers they used were stamped Plush, and they supposedly had one of the founders of Marantz helping design them.
Earth was a complete copy company. Talking with someone who worked there, they had Peavey and Fender schematics to work off of and some of the PCBs even have the Peavey name still on them.

Well, copy or not, lawsuit or not, I'm glad to finally see something on the web about Plush. They've always been sort of a mystery to me, so it's great to see so much actual literature. I sure hope the site expands in the future. It would be great if someone could root out the real story about Plush vs Fender, and how Earth fits in to that whole deal. I always thought it was odd that Earth amps looked like 100% clones of Plush - I thought maybe it was the same amp being marketed under two different names. Then Earth became copies of Peavey - why in the world anyone would want to copy Peavey solid-state amps was beyond me.

Just remove the NOSPAM from the e-mail and it should work work. I should put something about doing that.
From what I can determine, Earth were on Long Island, Andy Fuchs worked for them, Plush went from NYC to California and then went under. There are some who claim that Earth and Plush were the same company (well a man in Philly who supposedly had a basement full of Plush and Earth amps and claimed that he worked for both), others who claim they were separate. I wonder if any of the main people from either is still alive. I guess if they filed a lawsuit then it should be on record somewhere. I hope to have more to put up as others get me pictures, so far it is just what I have...

Well, it's a great start! I would recommend, though, that you look into using a hosting service that will show your domain name in the Address bar as you navigate the site. I forget what that feature is called (and your hosting service may offer it - ask about it).
I don't know what the vintagekustom.com site uses, but I use www.phenominet.com for my web site, and have been pretty happy with them so far. $50/year for 100MB of space, which includes annual domain-name registration, pretty good deal.

I should be able to get it to go to the proper plush name with my provider (dotster) but I am too incompetent to get that going. I have to bribe some of my computer network specialist friends to help me sort that bit out.
