Quick question.

At the Boston store for Daddy's Junky Music there is what appears to be a 3x15 blue sparkle tuck-n-roll cabinet being sold as a 2x15. See link. I saw this in person and the middle speaker hole has a support in it that looks like it is original and was never cut out to accept a third speaker. However, I couldn't confirm that without the taking the back off. The larger picture shows it quite clearly.

My question: Did Kustom sell them that way or do you think this is a 3x15 where someone removed a speaker?

Thanks,

John

I saw that on their site last week. It looks like some one made a block off plate for the middle speaker. Someone knew what they where doing if they where using the cab for bass, as the stock cab loaded with 3 -15s is way to small in cabinet internal volume so taking out one speaker makes for a deeper sounding bass cab. I have both the 3-15 and 2-15 cabinets and the 3-15 one really just has more mids and highs.May be 20% more lows, but everything you would think the added 15 would give.

Thanks Steve. Interesting. You are probably right.

For anyone else looking at the link, you may need add the letter "a" after the question mark and before "product...". No idea how that got dropped in a cut and paste (strange).

Thanks.

Another thing to notice is that the cabinet is an eleven pleat like the Frankensteins......and I can not tell if there are any ports in the plywood.....or if they are in the speaker plug.BC Cool

I did not notice any port holes eitheir, must be from the first run of those 3-15 cabs.My early horizontal 2-15 cab has the holes in the baffle, but inside the cabinet, it has on each side diagnal wood reinforcements That meet up to a wood plate in the center with a hole in it. and the first thing you think of when you see it is that they must of been toyin with the notion of mounting it in a stand that pivots like the PA head, or like the latter vox amps did for their speaker cabinets. I wonder if anyone who knows bud ross can pass that question along?
