Hey Guys,
Kool board.
I was just wondering how to "crack the lid" on a Kombo II organ.
I recently picked one up that needs some work for a price that I couldn't refuse. I spotted it on the sidewalk a few blocks away from my place with a bunch of furniture. I asked the lady at the house about it and right when she started telling me about it I noticed hiding in the pile of furniture a dresser that looked an awful lot like a Leslie 147. She said she was moving and couldn't sell it and was going to have to pay to get it removed. So yeah- I offered to "clean" it off the sidewalk.
Anyways...
I wanna get the organ going but before I even attempt the project I was wondering if there are any idiosyncratic things I should know about physically opening the case.
I read about the original Kombo organ top just flipping up to open but the Kombo II doesn't seem to work that way.
for $14.04. No need to worry about competition from other bidders - this guy has been listing this manual (it's a photocopy) on eBay for 3 years, and rarely sells any. I think it's also in his eBay Store as a regular item.
I was surprised that nobody else got to it before me. I did have to wait out a guy who wanted the Leslie and realised I couldn't fit both pieces in my car and would have to make two trips.
Now that I think about it, an old boss of mine probably has that manual. His shop used to be authorised by Kustom back in the day.
