Jeff, do yourself a huge favor and put a 3 prong grounded cord on that 250!!!! It will save your lips from sizzling. Then, with that 3 pronger on there, the polarity switch essentially will do nothing--it won't matter. But, you will be safe from zaps (as long as the Pa is plugged into the same wall socket or line as your head) and it could safe your 250 from an electrical disaster= repair time and money.

Jeff, I agree with kustomDeb. The switch actually reverse's the line cords ac. Just as if you removed the cord from the wall and turned it 180 degree's and pluged it back in. It also reduces hum in the amp. Put a new 3 prong ac cord and you won't have to worry about zap's. Connect the white and black leads where the original wires are, and connect the green ground wire to the chassic frame. Another important reason to make the change, is to prevent any damage to the amp if you are going to direct line it to a PA or when using direct box out to a PA that may be 100' away using a different power source than the main stage. Good luck, and glad tou have you on the site. Don
