Hi everybody!
I recently won an eBay auction for a pair of Kasino speakers. The gentleman selling them said that they were each a 2x10" cabinet; I haven't gotten them in, but suspect they may rather be a 2x12" cabinet. Any clue at what the power handling of these will be? I'm planning on pairing them with either my Altec 1214 PA powered mixer, or our old Peavey Series 260 Standard PA powered mixer.
I'm not even sure if these are actually PA speakers, or if they were designed to go with a Kasino guitar or bass head. Any clues?
Also, I'm curious as to how well these will handle treble...it would seem that a 10" or 12" would be mostly for bass, rather than treb. Am I gonna need to come up with some sort of HF horn? (oy vey...another piece to haul in and out of the prison. hehehe)

The kasino line only used 15 inchers for bass, so these would be guitar/keyboard or PA drivers.
If they where 10 inch speakers I would not put any more than 25 watts RMS each into them.
If they are 12s then anywhere from 25 to may be 50 watts, but I would try to stay in the middle ground wattage range of about 35 RMS if you do not want to pop them.

thanks...any clue on ohmage? I know that my Peavey will max out at 130W RMS@4 ohm; the Altec runs 100W@4 ohm. Of course, the Altec crapped out mid-service, running into a pair of Peavey Tri-Flex satellites. The Peavey has never quit on me, but I needed more inputs.
Figuring that these are 12s...I may use them in chain with the Tri-Flexes, with these for the bass, and the Tri's for the highs and mids.
I saw these on ebay - they seem to be PA cabinets -the amp that came with these could have been the Kasino Club which was virtually a Kustom 100 inside and so was about 60 watts RMS and 8 ohm minumum load. So, if the speakers are original, there is a good chance the speaker cabinets are 16 ohms each, and if not they are 8 ohms each.

Thanks for the info, bro...
16s would be PERFECT...that would mean i could run them in parallel with a 16 ohm sub...both amps go down to 4 ohms, and 3 16s in parallel come out to 4.
8s, which is what I sorta thought they might be, since that's pretty standard now, will be a bit more complicated to work with. It'll be something fun to play with anyway.

OK...the speakers arrived, and they are indeed the Kasino Club 210s. I'll do my best not to overpower them, but they sound nice so far...
so now i need a Kasino Club PA head.
and any clue what a Kasino "monitor" is? I recently bought, but haven't received yet, a speaker that looks almost identical to the pair of Club 210s I've got, but it has a volume control on it. Nearest match I can find in the catalog is a powered (100W i think) monitor.
