Can anything be done about this? 9 out of 10 recent posts are spam. I used to get excited when I saw a new post on the forum - not any more. I've even thought about dropping out.

The problem is that some spam bots have apparently gotten better at account validation - before they used fake email addresses which would be rejected by the requirement to receive an email before posting a message and the only person bothered was me by receiving an inbox full of failure notices. Now it looks like someone is using addresses where they can receive the authorization message and authenticate it. I've turned on a manual account authentication so that accounts need to be authorized by hand which should eliminate spam but means more work for me, which will mean slower times for new members to be able to post as I'm out of school and in a job now, and KustomDan rarely has time to even read the board, let alone moderate it.

Thanks, Hayden. Would it be possible for you to assign moderator privileges to one or two of the long-time, trusted members, and let them share the burden of approving new memberships? Are there really that many people joining the forum on a regular basis?
Have you deleted the accounts responsible for posting the recent spam?
