I'm still not sure of what speaker this is. It's from a Kustom 4x12, the Lead III or the LEAD IV from the tolex-era.

So.... Eminence, SRO, CTS, Rola or something else...?

Can you experts tell? Smile

Hi, its a Rola, from the 4th week of 1978.

285= rola manufacturing code.

78 = 1978

04 = 4th week.

Thanks for your reply. Interesting though, I asked about the cab earlier, and then you gave me a different answer:

"I do not think that the 2857804 number is related to the rola manufacturer code, as I have in one of my 2-15 cabs what is oveously a CTS square magnet driver with numbers of 038- whatever, and its a reconed driver with a Kustom sticker on it."

Maybe you're more certain now that you've seen the picture, but I still feel a bit confused. Is it really Rola? Does that mean the speakers have been replaced in this cab? Cause I read on http://www.broadwaymusicco.com/kustom4.htm that these cabs came with either Eminence or SRO speakers. Can you tell anything else about it like wattage or specific model or whatever?

Well sometimes seing is beliveing as many times I myself have gone back and looked at a speaker to check the code and on the second look in different light the poorly stamped or faded stampings read different.
In other words some stuff folks have posted here is not right or missing digets.
The real interesting thing here is the 038 stamping used because I have only seen that on reconded drivers.
Sometimes I need good proof to belive that something is real, like the picture you posted.
