Great that you are coming. Do you collect or own any vinatage Kustom equipment? If so, would you like to bring some? We do not open our doors tell 11:00am. Do you live in Chicago?

Conrad, just trying to entice you to head to Chanute. Never can tell what will surface in Chanute that weekend that someone has been holding on to for years. Ever see a Red Frankie head with a matching vertical 2x12 cabinet? They made a few of them. All kidding aside, I'm sure your gig will go great and anytime you have a all kustom stage, that's a good thing.

This is really hard. I started collecting again about 10 years ago when one of my sons found the last remaining piece I had, a K200-B1 in Caascade. From there it was this web site, and check the record, I have been here since 2001 and I'm number 25 to sign on. I have more posts than just about everyone except Steve and a few others. This web site is my favorite. Even my wife, and it seems a lot of fellows' wives, is on board too. I have plenty to do around the house, don't we all, but I would drop it in a minute if I could attend. So it pains me not to be able to attend. Part of collecting is too show it. Why keep it hidden. I would be up for a video if anyone would see fit to produce one. Has anyone thought about it? Something with a bit of production value. So you see, twist my arm as much as you want, drag my name through the mud, I don't care. The suffering of knowing I've missed the greatest assembly of Kustom addicts in the world will hurt more. (Wasn't that absolutely tear wrenching?) Thanks for the ribbing. It's all in fun, I know. Hope to meet you all , sometime.

Hey All,
This is mark from Kansas City. Per my other post I check out
this site all the time. I plan on driving down for the day
and I am still looking for a bass rig. My question is will
there be any wheeelin and dealin going on, or is all the gear
to close to people's harts to part with. I am looking for a
Kustom 200 B-1 with a 2-15 cabinet. It does not have to be perfect
but I do want something pretty nice.

Mark, there is always wheeling and dealing going on between this group. Glad to see your coming. Do you own any vinatge kustom equipment that you can bring down with you?

Good choice Mark! I always say if I could only have one amp it would be a K200B-1 and a 2x15 CTS cabinet. Yes....there are always trades in the works. If you do not find what you want at Chanute we can probably turn something up in a little while. I am following some new leads on Kustoms I have heard about this week. The thing about Kustoms is you can't have just one! Looking forward to meeting you. BC

Cool,
I found a black 69 K200 B1 with a 2-15 cabinet. The guy says it is in mint condition. The 15's are KEI'S though. I do not know
much about them. What do you all think of KEI'S? He wants 550.00
for it and I would have to drive about 4 hours to pick it up.

Hi.. I am planning on coming up for the meet Saturday. I don't have a big collection but could bring my metalface Blue sparkle 150 Pa set... I have original everything but a footswitch and it's in very well taken care of shape. Wish I could come for the whole thing but I don't have the time off since I usually work weekends. I am finalizing arraingements Monday for getting Sat and Sunday morning off. I'm bringing my bass though. I also have a 250 series 1-18 set w/covers... It ain't near as nice shape as the Pa but certainly servicable. Was originally part of a 500 set but he kept the 1-18 module. Could bring it as well if there is a need to...I am looking forward to meeting many other "kustomoholic's...I don't know if there is a cure for it...."I hope not". Looking forward to meeting Bud Ross too. It is a tribute to his vision of providing reliable and truly beautiful equipment to the professional musician that so many of these still look great and work so well after 40-45 years...many with 100% original components!!!!! Let me know if There is room for my 2 amps/sets
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

JC,
Can you give me a little more info on that bass rig? Is it a
K 200 and what are the speakers? My e-mail is mcline5804@earthlink.com and my cell phone is 913 515-7853.

None of my basses is a Kustom tho I have several short scales. A Gibson SB 350 and a Fender Mustang Reissue...even an old Teisco Beatle violin bass from the mid 60's. I also have a Precision Lyte Deluxe and a Wishbass fretless Scroll. I don't think all of it will fit in the van but I have the BS 150 PA set,250 1-18Bass horn set,Charger combo in shiny black,K100-1 in Charcoal met with matching 1-15 cab. A BS K100 bass head and a BS 2-15 200 series cab..Finally a 300 head in plain black and a couple of 4-12 ross pa cabs. that need work.

Ok boys & girls, it's time for the largest gathering of Kustomaniacs ever, and the first one at the place where it all started, Chanute, Kansas! This is our Graceland!
I've been reading the postings and see there are some that say they can't make it. This is unlikely to happen again, so I would do whatever necessary to get there! As Brad, Don & Neil have pointed out, it's going to be a memorable weekend, and an opportunity of a lifetime to meet and learn from Bud himself. Believe me, I've met him and it's an honor to know him! You will learn a lot if interesting facts from Bud and others that were there in the day, so come on, you can do it! You'll also witness the largest display of Kustom gear in one place since the plant was pumping them out, just another reason to come! If you truly can't make it, just send your amps, we'll take care of them!

The kustom collectors event in Chanute is drawing close. We just got word from Bud that he has created a new amp serial number 0001. So we are excited to see his new creation and he will be unvailing it at the show. We will also have the huge collection from Nashville on display along with all the amps we are bringing. The invitation is still open and it will be the event of the year to attend. I can't wait to see what Bud has created. I'd bet it will have T&R as part of it.

I just spoke with Bud and he has promised me #0001, sorry about that boys! (This was the dream I had during my nap today!)
Seriously though, I was just about as excited as you could possibly get about getting to Chanute, but after learning about this new amp Bud has created, I won't be able to sleep!

I'm having enough trouble sleeping now! Working nights this week. Planned to leave for Chanute Thursday morning. Still much to do. Fox helped me load some new 15s in a Gold 200 today. Sounds great in the house. I am trying to get tomorrow night off for additional prep time and some sleep! I am anxious to see old friends and meet the new ones! This is going to be great! BC
