There is a very nice FrankenBass head and cab with an upgrade to JBL's for $550 on Ebay that has just been listed. Too bad but no shipping on this one. Also unfortunate is no location either unless someone just happens to "know" where Winter Garden USA is.. This guy looks like another collector cause I saw other T n'R in the photos... I 'd love to get this but I have a feeling this isn't going to be close enuf to go pick up or I would be having a sudden Illness and deserting my employer for this...But until I know where this is I'm hoping the thread holds long enuf to maybe get this one...I'd even give up the big beast 250/1-18
set I have... for this one...It has covers too... Since the JBL's aren't original the impedance isn't mentioned in the ad.. I guess I have more questions to send to the seller.

Well..Now that my excitement has subsided somewhat.... It is near Orlando, Florida so If any of you are close this would be a great aquisition. Since I live in Oklahoma driving is not very practical to pick it up.. He has some great pix on the ad. The only thing he doesn't show are the covers he says come with it.
Now......If I can talk him into shipping.........

I bought it Winter Garden FL and Have another one in GOLD.
I have a gold sparkle Frank in Bass!
I have put Qty-2 421 H LFD 15 inch AL Dust cover
I have put Qty-2 E140 JBLs
I have put Qty-2 D140 JBLs
I have put Qty-2 Pyle Drivers
I have put Qty-2 EVL Electro Voice
I have put Qty-2 Original KEI 15s
It is a close win but the JBLs E140s are the winner by a .5%!
The Altecs are the close runner up!
The JBL D140s are the best BUT not above 6 on the volume!!!
Now here is the gas!
I now play with 1 Altec 421 at the bottom and 1 E130 on the top
with no crossover - I play 6 string very loud! and this combo
rocks the rocks - ask the local police force who is commonly called to my residence when we jam!
Oh, it is for sale 401-499-1146.
And you get to pick the speakers the cab and head are a 8 out of 10 and NO SMOKE SMELL AND NO CANCER CAUSING FIBERGLASS INSIDE.
I replaced with quality foam rubber (not made in China).

I do not know if you know this about JBL speakers, but many of them are wired to the terminals backwards by intent. That is a JBL + marking is really what would be - on all other makes of drivers, so your Alec and JBL may be out of phase with each other!!
A quick 9 volt battery hook up to see if both speaker cones move in the same direction can prove this out or not.

Yes, I am aware of the polarity reversal the JBL uses.
Reminds me of my old 1960s Triumph (+) ground!
Yes frequency AC not DC is transported thru the speaker wires to the terminals. (+) is for a forward pulse of the papet cone and (-) is a backward pulse of the paper cone under a low DC voltage = this is an industry standard since Marconi and "coils" for phase matching not + or - DC voltage matching, since the signal is an AC frequency (HZ or CPS). That is why speakers are rated as an example 20 HZ to 7,000Hz.
But please keep reminding people of the JBL reversal of + and - it does make a big difference in combos and 4X12s where mixed speakers are used.
