Just picked up an original volume wah pedal with my purchase of a 250-4 . There was something rattleing around inside and It's a small gear like wheel .Does anyone know where that part belongs?
It seemed to fit the plug in jacks opposite side (inside the unit) but didn't gear match anything. At time of post haven't even tried the pedal ,still the honeymoon period.

I think I figured it out . The chain is attached to a spring and you just stretch the chain over the gear and the tension holds it in place. My only problem is the ribbed gear slides off the end of the pot post. I can't glue it it's metal against plastic. I guess the original had a different gear on the post. That round nylon disc must be the ticket. You wouldn't happen to have one ?

No I do not have one, but you can glue plastic to metal with gap meduim/gap filling thickness super glue sold at hobby shops.
Just make sure that no grease or oil is on the gluing suface.
Simple to get a hold of nail polish remover even works well for this.
