I would like to say thanks to Pleat, Chicago Bill and Stevm for your responses...they where very hepful and my Amp is working great. Below is a summary of my efforts.
I elected to use the Toroidal style Transformer Steve recomeded. However, I elected to use the AN 2230 based on the following:
The 2230 is a double coil (so is the 3340)but rated at 30vac per output coil vs the rated 40vac of the 3340. In addition, the 2230 is rated at 200v/a vs the 300v/a of the 3340.
Soooo, Assuming the 3.0 fuse rateing of the K100 amp and the measured output voltage of the old tranformer (60vac to ground)before failure the folling calcs supported the AN 2230.
Rated output voltage of 60 vac, multiplied by the RMS value of 0.707, the expected DC output voltage from the rectifier outputs would be approximately 42.42 vdc (acceptable range of the original schematic requirement of 39.5 vdc).
60vac x 0.707= 42.4vdc or 30vac(each Coil)x 1.41=42.4vdc)
Calculating the V/A's= Output ac voltage (60vac)x amps (assumed 3.0 based on fuse rating)devided by the Power Factor (1.0).
60vac x 3=180/1.0=180v/a.
Clearly the 3340 works based on Stevm's succesful installation, I just was more comfortable with the 2230 (Personal choice) due to the age of the other components.

Thanks again guys!

Congrats! Glad to hear that it's working.

I don't know if Steve has every used the one that he listed, but it sounds like you did your homework and picked the right transformer.

Another transformer that will work for the K100 is a Traid model F-272U which is a classic type replacement.
A Avel model Y236654, is a Toridal type .
