Hi, I'm sure it is a kustom 2-12 cab but not sure when it was made,
and I think it has jensen speakers. The numbers on the speakers
are 12838G 575750, any ideas? Thanks,Jim
P.S. I bought this, The guy told me it was a bass cab.

Jim, The numbers you provided are not Jensens. Jensens would have a 220 for the manufacture code. CTS is 137, Altec's 391, and Emenience 67. From the numbers you provided the best I can come up with 575 being a Heppner brand. Some signs to date the cabinet, aluminum port tubes and name badge says Kustom by Ross would be the earliest models. 1968. If the cab has chrome plastic port tubes and badge is Kustom Electronics, would be mid 1969 to 1971 when the non tapered 2x12 cabs came out. These later cabinets would have silver threads in the grill cloth, chrome ports, and the name badge is a dull cast aluminum with the Kustom Logo offset to the left of center.
One problem with buying a cabinet that is 40+ years old, you never really know what might be inside the cabinet for speakers or even toys stuffed through the port holes.

Not speakers that came stock in a Kustom. If they were they would have a big white Kustom ink stamp on them. if they were Jensens, they would have a sticker on the magnet, that covered the entire magnet saying jensen and what model, etc. It is made for a K100 head only being 10 tuck and rolls wide, if it were 12 wide it would be for a K200 head. You need a k100-1 head and it will make a nice bass amp. They did make a nice single 15 cab that came with a single Altec that made a great bass cab as well. I have one with the k100-1 head in red.

Thanks,Pleat The speakers are Heppner with the dates 1967 50 th week. Could they have used these on kustom's in the 60's? They say these where in fenders, and that there just as good as the jensens?
Thanks,Jim

They were not used in Kustoms. I would check the overall ohm rating of the cabinet and see what you have and go from there. Just test each speaker or if it is still wired to the outlet plug a cable into it and test it on the tip and sleeve for over all ohm load.
You could always remove the 2 x 12 baffle board and install and make a single 15 baffle board and install a JBL 8 ohm with a K100-1 head and you would have a killer lil bass amp.

Regular old fiberglass insulation spray painted black like you see the rements of on the cross brace.
Alot of times some of the wood screw holes are stripped out, if you have that problem just place one or two wood tooth picks broken off at the right lenght into the hole and the screw will than hold fine.
