Hello evryone hope you are having a great time. I recently came upon a non working '72 coupe tube amp that was in great shape physically but had a tube blue flash. What do you think it is worth if it works or if it doesnt. Thanks in advance
p.s.
I am looking for a k100 or a k150-6 sc that works or needs minor repair just the amp head not the cabinet unless a real deal. Thanks Fred also looking for a set of port tubes for a k100 cabinet. Thanks again Fred

whats your question Kochens? The '72 coupe is a 72 watt combo amp tube powered by 4-6L6's and pre amped by 4 12ax7 preamp tube. The amp was made in 2 versions 1 72 watt and 1 36 watt. They are/were chinese made. I have a new cabinet for a sc I just need some power for it. I would like to have a k150-6 to power it with. Thanks for the question. Fred

The Coupe series were made in the USA. The T&R TRT series amps are Tube output and solid state pre amps and they were made in China.

If the coupe does not work I would not pay more than 100 bucks for it as besides needing a matched quad of output tubes, it may need a new output transfomer also.
If it still works, but just needs output tubes( you can run it on just two good tubes if need be) I might pay 250 for it.
Last year I fixed the smaller wattage coupe amp for a guy who had taken it to two other tech`s who could not find out why it would cut out and crackle.
It turned out to be a bad factory (China not surprizing!) soilder connection on the first power supply dropping resistor.
I pass this along to you not to pat myself on the back, but to let you know that should you buy the amp this should be one thing to check out in regards to future failure points.
