Is it possible to wire/rewire an older Kustom reverb and tremolo footswitch (2 button) with the regular guitar type plug on it to fit and work on my '71 150 head with the 4 hole pin footswitch plug? I've pretty much given up on finding the proper one for it. Smile

Yes. I thought that I remembered seeing one on eBay recently, but it was a four switch unit.

You will need to get an 4 pin plug that matches the socket and just wire it up.

About any 2 button foot switch will work as long as you have the plug and know what pins to wire it to. I know someone here has the pin number diagram.

Thanks CB & KB. I would be most appreciative to have the wiring diagram. So - anybody with knowledge of it, please share with me. Smile

Check with Pleat, ChicagoBill, or Stevem Oren I am sure one of those guys have it. You may even do a search on the forum for (four prong plug wiring) or something like that and find it.

Switchcraft A4M plug should work.
Pin 1 = ground
Pin 2 + Positive voltage for the lights on the lighted footswitch.
Pin 3 = Trem/Vib
Pin 4 = Reverb
Hope this helps.

Thy to get a 4 pin male XLR made by Neutrik. they are easy to work with and have a better type strain releaf set up to them that will not bit into the outer jacket insulation of the cable to the point of cutting thru it in use.
The face of the connector where the pins exit from are numbered for easy wire reference.

Right now there is an original two switch unit on eBay as well as a work-alike one.

I promise not to bid on the original one if you are interested.

Thanks for the heads up CB. Neither say whether or not the light-ups work. Being pretty much a purist, I'd love to have the correct switch for my super nice 150 head and cab to make it complete. What would be a max price for something like this? I'm guessing that supply and demand would dictate value. Thanks again, and if I see that it's not going to work for me or whatever, I'll let you know. Smile

The light bulbs in the footswitches are the same ones used in the power switches, a GE#335. If they are burned out, they can be easily replaced.

The 4 unit one that sold a few weeks ago sold for somewhere around $129.00 I think. I don't know if the two button one would be more popular or not.

These just don't come up very often, so if you really want it I guess you just have to bid what you're willing to pay.
