OK - So I just ran across this rig and I don't know much about this set-up. K200B-2 head serial number dates to July-Sept 1969. Guy bought it in 1980 from the original owner. He says it has 2x15 Jensens. Has the reverb, speed, volume, bright, intensity, bass, treble and foot switch on the left side. Volume, bright, bass & treble on the right side. It's black and has the original covers. Don't yet know about the foot-switch. Tuck & roll looks good in the pics. Owner says everything works great. I'm assuming that this is for guitar and bass, but would suspect that it might be better for guitar? I'm looking for whatever you guys can tell me about the rig along with any experiences, including the Jensen 15s. I own and have seen a bunch of Kustoms, but not this particular set-up. I did a search, but found very little. Thanks. Smile

Model 2 amps were usually sold for guitar use because of the reverb and vibrato. Generally the more important factor is the speaker type.

Jensens were used for guitars, CTS for bass, JBLs and Altecs were used for both.

Pleat will have more info for you.

You can always go to the literature section and look through the pages. The catalogs only show the K200B-1 heads and K200B-4 heads. The catalog does show that most models can be purchased as a B1-B2-B3 or B4 heads.
Models showing the basic two channel no effects heads are offered with CTS, Altec or JBL D140's and are the bass guitar models. Jensen speakers are guitar speakers, and not really designed for bass guitar. After 40+ years, I still want to see the speakers with the back taken off. No telling what might have been changed over the years before the second owner took possession. If the cabinet has the port tubes, it's a good idea to remove the back just to see what might have been stuffed into the cabinet. I once bought a 3x15 cabinet with the ports and it had a rattle when moved. I removed the back and found that it must have sat in a bar and people were tossing their empty long necks in the ports and had almost 8" of broken beer bottles inside.

Thanks guys. Kinda what I was thinking. You know how the GAS is always there, especially for stuff that I haven't seen. Price seems decent at $275.00. Since I already have a 150 with the reverb and tremolo etc., and this one is not much for bass, I'll probably pass unless you guys tell that it's a steal. BTW -owner swears the back has never been off. He was friends with and played in a band with the original buyer when purchased. Smile
