I have this Kustom cabinet and would like any information anyone could give me, including what it would be worth. I was told by the guy who bought it that he bought it in the late 60's or early 70's. The speakers don't work, but that may be a wiring issue. I do not have the head, he sold it already.
It is in great shape. Evidently it has been stored with the cover in his garage for years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lonman

It is a 3 x 12 cab with Jensen speakers. You can check the wiring, but most Jensen's that I have had that didn't work, needed to be re-coned at 60 bucks each. It does look to be in nice condition, but it is black and 65% of all Kustom products were made in the color black. The way it sets, 200-300 bucks max, if that because it is in nice shape. The speakers if working would help some. If they need to be re-coned you are looking at 180 or more to have that done. The cover has saved it for sure over the years. This would take a K200B-1,2,4 head normally as it would be normally a guitar cabinet.

Welcome to the place. Unusual cabinet there. I can't tell if that has three 10" speakers or what. It looks pretty clean and well kept.

Top speaker dust cover dome looks dented.

Hello Lonman,

You have received the answer(s) to your questions, so I cannot add anything there.

Somewhere around 1970 I bought a 200 B2 with the three 12 cabinet. I have that cabinet parked right behind me as I type.

Nice looking cabinet. Mine has a tear on the bottom front naug.

That is a nice speaker cabinet, I thought I would never own one, then I ran into two of them in like a 3 month period! They sound great! I have never had any problems with the Jensen's I have ever gotten in my cabinets, I would take the zillion screws off the back and see what the caper is! Here are my 3x12 rigs!-----> http://www.49live.com/Kustom/gold.jpg http://www.49live.com/Kustom/altec.jpg

Yeah Like I said, i was not even in the market for a 3x12, just so happened they popped up when I had the money and when I was free to get them. The Silver came from Minneapolis CL, and the Gold came from Davenport IA, Music go round. I was lucky to get the Gold due I was coming back from Springfield Ill. Getting two 3x15 Jbl cabs and a Jensen 3x15 and a Cascade 1x15 + horn. That was a looooooong day!

Hi all, I am now the owner of this cabinet.. Question I do have, what is the proper wiring? Parallel or series? Right now, I believe it is parallel. So you all know, one speaker was blown - Deadsville.. It's been replaced, as I do not like things that do not work. I do have a K200B-2 head, replaced the light bulb and jewel (blue).. I just wanted to be sure that it is wired correctly for the maximum rock'n'roll-ness and loudness... Thanks!

The speakers are wired in parallel and each speaker is 16 ohms, so to replace the bad speaker be sure to use a 16 ohm.

With one dead speaker, you might want to disconnect the bad speaker and see if the other two are good.

Thanks Pleat. I have ohmed the other two, good readings. If I remember correctly, with all 3 speakers wired in parallel, I get a 5.0-5.3 reading. With Red being on the dot. Gotta tell ya... I am proud and happy as can be with to own this...
