I'm following up here to a post from a couple weeks ago. Got my new toy home safe&sound so I just a couple more questions. First course of action was to take the backing off to identify the speakers. They appear to be Jensens, model P15L,C8315 3 speaker code 220648. I've also noted that the cab is not ported.
My question is are these speakers designed for bass or guitar? I was told by the store employee it was for bass. I tested it out on bass and sounded real good but I figured I would get a second opinion here. Any thoughts?
I've posted some pics here.

As for the amp, the serial# looks to only be 4 digits,5804. Either my eyes are failing me or I'm missing a number. Stevem did say to remove the screws from the base to pull the amp out of the chassis to get a true reading but just have not gotten around to that yet. Here are some pics of the entire rig. Hope I look this good when I get this age.

Thanks again for your input.

Hello again!
Judging from the date code on your speakers ( 48th week of 1966) the amp production wise is a early 67 model which is why it has the latter type control knobs that all T&C Kustoms have come fitted with since then!

The P15L Jensen speakers are there top of the line Alinco magnet ( loudest model ) 15" that they make.
These drivers where not really intended for Bass use as they do not go down with a flat frequency response down below a A note on the low E string.
Note that these cabinets could have been ordered with the port holes or not
However you can play bass thru it, but I would not play a 5 string Bass thru it at even a loud home volume!
The head is the standard non PA head and can be used for any Instrument, even the non reverb channel in the PA model head can be used for Bass.

Really nice looking Frankie amp and cab. The original post stated C595 which should have been the head with a CTS loaded cabinet. Since your cab has Jensen's, there could be lots of reasons for the model mis-match. The only correction I would make is the Frankie cab without port holes. Bud said that some cabs were shipped without port holes. The reason was, Bud broke the handle on his saw, didn't have the cash to replace it, so he glued and taped the handle and concentrated on cutting the speaker holes and didn't do the port holes. He told me he had that saw mounted on a plaque and it hung in his office to remind him of the early days.
In the later K200A series cabs, the cabs came standard with port holes or you could order the cabs with aluminum port tubes for an additional 20.00 per cab.

PS I like the red SC4x10 you have covered in the one photo.

Thanks to you both. Pleat I had wondered about an amp/cab mis-match myself. Glad to see you picked up on the SC combo. Here's a picture of my modest collection.

Stevem- I had read on a Fender forum that the "L" in the speaker model was designated to indicate these speakers were used in Leslie amps? Sounded like a pretty cool side note.

Nice looking collection for sure. When people ask me how many amps I need, I just reply ONE MORE. The red 4x10 looks great. I see yours does not have the center vent hole in the dust cap. I've only seen one other red amp without the vent holes and it was one I owned ten years ago and sold it to a collector in Nashville. Who knows it might be my old amp. I remember I had an issue with a control on the lead channel.

What part of the country are you located? We are having a kustom collector gathering August 8-9-10 in Forest VA. It will have what I consider the largest collection of T&R in one spot. I'd guess over 250 pieces of T&R.

Funny story about the K150, I went out to a small run down thrift store one day and was browsing some old Peavey stage monitors. The owner says to me, "You interested in guitar amps? I have a couple in the back room. One is a Fender and the other,, ahh a Kustom with a K.
I must have had a good poker face on that day when I saw it was in red. He sold it to me right there on the spot. I've had the bug ever since. So what is the advantage(if any) of having the vent hole in the dust cap?

Wow, the collector show will be here before we know it, eh? I would have to mull that one over, quickly. Now to get a set of Kustom style casters on the 2x15 cab. Take care!

Kustom style ball casters. Free shipping on orders over 25.00 I'd guess the vented dust caps let the speaker breath and keeps the voice coil cooler.

In regards to the letter use in the last spot of the model number of Jensen speakers. It is used for stating the efficiency / loudness or SPL rating of the speaker, and not that it came in a Leslie.
The musical speakers in there concert series of which the P15L is one goes from a low of using a S letter up to L.
There is S,R,Q,P and the highest rated L!

You can also find the identical looking hooded wheels at Grainger. I got some from there about a year ago. Perfect fit and match for the '70 2x15 that I installed them on.
