Can anyone help with dating an old 2x12 cabinet? Would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately, the speakers are non-original, and I don't have the head that went with it, so no help there.
Here are the particulars:
Black tuck-roll 2-12 cabinet, tapered, solid black grill cloth, 2 chromed plastic ports;
Badge on front says: Kustom by ROSS INC;
Input jack panel says: Jensen, includes the patent number, and Kustom, Chanute, KS;
Separate metal S/N plate reads: K - 15807, Kustom Electronics,Inc
It has castors but they aren't the spherical ones with the nice fenders; probably replacements.

Acording to a collector on the site who a date chart, Nov. 1969 Kustom started putting serial numbers on the speaker cabinets. It's hard to say on a cabinet that was purchased used, but the Logo plate should read Kustom Electronics rather than the older Kustom By Ross logo. It may be at one point in time, someone added the older logo. Some collectors have a preference to which logo they like best. There may an extra hole behind the logo since both logo's used difference screw spacings.

Yes, a cabinet with the separate metal serial number plate should never have had the Kustom by Ross name plate, may be the the back panel of the amp was swapped if the name plate is original!

Thanks, Stevem.
So, I removed the logo and sure enough there was another set of screw holes underneath, slightly wider set.
Guess I'll have to face facts; I own a mongrel Kustom cab. Sounds good and looks good though!
