Hey guys I need some advice again.....like really?????

Found a guy that has two Altec 421-8h 15's that he is willing to take out of a 3-15 cabinet and put them into a 2-15. The cabinet is the teal color which I am not crazy about but will do. Looks to be in fair shape like most. The Altec's have been re-coned. Think the guy is eager to make a sale since he has tried to sell off several cabinets as a package and got no takers willing to pay what he wanted. What would you consider a fair price for this cabinet? Don't think there were any casters on it. Thanks.

Are the altec speakers 8 ohms or 16 ohms. The 421-8H isn't a number that I'm familiar with that Kustom would have used. There should be a Kustom Logo Ink Stamp on the frame if the speakers were original to a kustom cabinet.

In any event, you can check Ebay for the Altec's to see what the going or asking price is.

The other thing is, what will it be used for and how bad you want it and is it close to your location?

300.00 without seeing the cab and assuming the speakers are in good working order.

Once again the voice of reason speaks......never thought to check about the ohms, but know it was in a 3-15 bass cabinet. Thanks much.

Well that was a bust.....he wanted $500 and they didn't say Kustom on the speakers. Not sure where they originally came from. And the cabinet definitely wasn't worth $200 empty. I'll hold out for another Guitar Center Screw Up.

As near as I can tell somewhere in 69 Kustom started to use the 421 driver for one of there options on the Bass cabinets, however the I would have to do some research as to when Alec started to make the 421 8H model and if Kustom used them!

Guy sent me an email this morning coming down $50 off the price. Said they were out of a bass cabinet and that he had the original warranty that is lifetime by Kustom. Still too pricy for me.

Too bad that lifetime warranty thing stopped many many moons ago when Kustom was sold to its current owners!
Nice try!

Another lesson leaned from the Master......that was a nice ploy he tried with the Kustom "warranty". Always wondered if that was still in effect or not. Now I know. Knowledge is POWER! Another six pack now owed. Your killing me man....lol.

Well if I played and ever did win, you'd be on the top of the list of people that I would send a post card from the island I bought. Your chances are better with the beer my friend.
