I recently rejoined the forum after reading about the elusive 8 legged transitor / chip .I have 2 commanders and one in need of this part. I do a CCR / outlaw country show here in P.a and I just love these amps for what I do . It was member ''KustomBlues'' message 490 that said he had a few help me !

Welcome back. A better description of the part that you are looking for would be helpful.

As far as I know Commanders used an transconductance amp that was part number 80848. These looked like a round metal transistor with 8 legs. They would be found on the effects board, PC5068.

They controlled the vibrato/tremolo and the reverb mix.

If this is the part that you are looking for, they can be replaced with an CA3080E which has a plastic DIP package, but will fit directly into the pc board.

As of late last year these chips were still available from Jameco Electronics in Belmont, California.

The part in question has 14 feat/prongs and is located behind the bass knob the number is SL14228
