slanted 2-15's cabinet [message #23055] Fri, 05 June 2015 23:17   Iowa Boy Messages: 767 Registered: June 2014 Senior Member Picked up a 2-15's cabinet this past week on a road trip thru Wisconsin. Guy says it was a bass but is not like the two bass cabinets I have. This one is slanted like the 3-15's and the speaker jack plate says CTS which they are. So did Kustom change they're cabinet style during some point in time? The T&R is black and in really bad shape so am thinking about just scrapping it out for the parts. I really have no use for the cabinet other than the speakers, handles and the bass ports. So what is it actually? Thanks. Report message to a moderator

Re: slanted 2-15's cabinet [message #23059 is a reply to message #23055] Sat, 06 June 2015 06:01   stevem Messages: 4733 Registered: June 2004 Location: NY Senior Member Yes, when they went to the metal face amps they ditched the slant for bigger cu Ft box since that same cab was going to be used in the 500 series of amps and with said power amp in the cabinet they needed to recover the cu ft of volume! This has the effect of giving the 250 series of cabinets better low end than the 200 series with certain speakers . The 250 and 500 series of cabs should have silver thread in the grill cloth. Might just hang on to it then since this is the first time I have seen one like this.
