This is my first post on the forum. I own a Kustom K200A guitar in birdseye and flame maple that I love, and I'm thinking of restoring a vintage K200D bass guitar as well. Does anyone know what kind of tuners originally were on the K200D bass, i.e. which manufacturer made them? Or has anyone possibly a an old set he could sell me? Any kind of input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I think they used tuners supply by Hagstrom.
If they are closed back with the cover being rectangular but with one end triangular, then they are of Hagstrom manufacture and I belive they still have new replacements that can be had.
If not a good Luther may be able to rebuild them with other parts!

They also may be Kluson tuners. Slotted post since Kustom was using Kluson tuners on their 6 string electric guitars. Kustom basses, the tuners were mounted backwards, so as you would normally tune the string up to pitch, you had to turn the key backwards.

I think Pleat is right, as usual. They look like Kluson open back tuners, really common back at that time. And the reverse turn feature was also common back then.
