When I took the back off to address the issues mentioned in my other thread, I noticed there was nothing inside to provide damping for the speaker. Should there be some in there? If so, should I use the foam from Walmart that is mentioned in other threads?

I don't know if there was any insulation in there to begin with. Not all cabinets have or need it.

Does it look like it has been removed?

There are no definitive signs that it has or hasn't been removed, no loose batting or staples that were not in use etc. I jus wondered if there should be any in there, as the combos are mentioned in discussion much less than the head/cabinet amps. It has no unusual sounds nor does it sound tonally deficient. I figured I'd ask while I had it open, although there are only 4 screws securing the back, so taking it off is no problem.

I've owned 8 of them and only one of them had anything in it and I believe that was installed by someone else, not factory, because it was done badly. I believe they sound much better without it in there personally. I only have one Challenger now, I kept the most reliable guts and a mint cabinet the rest are history.
