In looking to maybe add other Kustom gear to the stash of tuck & roll that I already have, I've noticed a 2x15 cab with the "Big K" Kustom identification that's located not too far away. I know a fair amount about our wonderful T&R's, but little about newer gear. Before deciding to make the trip to check this cab out, I was hoping to find some info and maybe comments from users/owners from you guys. Interestingly, I have a real nice pair of JBL K140's waiting for a cab. This could be my "K"-140 cab, or not. Thanks.

Pleat would know for sure as to the era, but as I recall in one of the bands I was we went out and got a brand new Big K pa rig and I would have to place them in the mid to late 70s.
They where still made well and the cabinets where strong!

Don't forget that JBL speakers are wired up voice coil wise phase reversed!
This is not a issue if those two speakers are used all on there own, but with other non JBL speakers added, or another amp with speakers it will, so you will be better off using the black terminal as hot when / if you grab that cabinet.

I have some Big K literature that is dated 1979 so I would think the change over to the B K series would have been the fall of 1978.

Thanks stevem and pleat. I appreciate your help and I'll check a little further on the cab.

I have a Big K Lead III amp with two 4x12 stacked cabinets, which I purchased new in 1976.
