I just purchased a Kustom 250 tuck and roll. The reverb and tremolo did not work so I took it apart and cleaned the in and out female jacks and connections and now the reverb works great but still no tremolo. Any thoughts or input? I have a foot pedal that came with it but is not a original kustom with three wired jacks and dosent seem to do anything. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the place.

The effects should work without any footswitch connected. If you look at the back panel of the chassis, there should be a metal tag with the model number stamped on. Something like K250-2. If you tell us exactly which amp you have we can point you to the schematics in the technical section of the site.

If the connectors for the pc board have been cleaned and the solder joints have been checked, there may be an electronic problem with the circuit. If you have the skills, we can help you fix it or help the person that fixes for you.

Again welcome.

Any 2 button foot switch will work but it needs to be wired into a multi pin XLR connector .
Also the original foot switch had indicator lights so you need to watch out when wiring the new connectior up that you leave that XLR pin unused.

With what I am posting here I am assuming you have a K250-2 model, not a -4 model.
Fender makes a foot switch similar to the original.
It can be had from Antique electronics, there part number is P-271.
If you then get a 4 pin male XLR from parts express ( part number 092-326 ) you can cut the Fender 1/4" TRS jack off and wire on the needed 5 pin XLR.
You do not want to use pin 2 on the XLR as that is the power feed to the original LED lamps the foot switch had.
Pin 1 which is a black wire in the amp is ground.
This leaves pins 4 and 3 .
Pin 3 is a tan wire in the amp, and pin 4 is a gray wire in the amp.
You can wire either pin to either wire it just depends on what effect you want the left or right side foot switch to turn on and off.

You could get a Marshall type foot switch part number P-H71-led and use the power feed on pin 2 to have the lamps work .
The issue with this is that you would likley have to play around with some small 1/2 watt resistors to Taylor the voltage to the LEDs so they do not burn out.
I say this because I think the voltage coming out of the amp is too high for the Marshall foot switch.
Once again with this foot switch you will need to cut off the end(s) and wire in the XLR.

Has it be determined that the K250-2 is an early version that used the two button lighted footswitch or later version that uses the standard 1/4" stereo footswitch jack?

Pleat out of my 4 k250 amps 3 are the -2 model.

Two of them are first production -2 models and one is a late 1972 model with the course black T &C, and all 3 of these use a 4 pin XLR .

My late 1972 K150 head also covered in course black T & C is also equipped with a 4 pin XLR so that's all I can confirm!
The one main thing I would like to know is what bulbs Kustom used in the foot switch because I do not think they where using LEDs yet judging by the 10 watt voltage dropping resistor that was used inside these amps to feed the lamps!

The pedals used the same bulbs as the power switches. Miniature screw in #335 lamps.
