This one should be easy for you guys. What model amp & cab is the guitarist in this pic playing through?

I'm pretty sure I know, but I wanted to double-check with you guys.

While you're at it, go ahead and ID any other T&R that's on-stage.

Well his first hit song was in 66' but judging by his dress this picture is from the 70s.

There is quite a broad year span of Kustom gear on that stage!

The guitar players amp is K200 3-12J-3 model for sure!

The Bass player has a 200 watt Frank head with a 3-15" JBL D140 loaded cabinet.

Their is a late 60s 2-10" combo ( looks like a 2-10-SC model )guitar model on the left next to what looks like a 1971 and later powered PA monitor.

The amp on the extream right I can't nail down for you , but it looks like a 4-12" cab.

Thanks, Steve. So would the guitar player's amp also be called a K200B2?

I was at this concert, it was done while "Raindrops..." was still a pretty big hit, so early 1970, I think. This pic is from a yearbook, which I think I have at home. I'll have to check on that tonight.

I thought that one on the right looked like a 4x12, but was there a 4x12 at that time?

I suspect the band just showed up in town and went to the local music store (which carried Kustom gear), and borrowed/rented whatever they had on hand, hence the cobbled together "PA" system - 2x10 SC combo and 4x10 (4x8?) column, and mis-matched rig on the other side of the stage, both just set up on tables, and the piano guy was probably playing whatever piano they happened to have in the auditorium.

To me it looks like a B series 200 yes , not a A series.

In regards to what looks like a 4-12 cab, if this was indeed 1970 then it could have been a prototype for the soon to come out K250 series amps?

That is a 4x10 combo, the guitar cord kinda makes it hard to see but that is it.

Thanks! An eclectic collection, indeed!

That was the first concert I'd ever attended. I would have been 13. I recall that his band, "The Arrangement", played a number of covers before BJ came on, and they were really good. I actually enjoyed them more than I did BJ. I know they played "Hello, Goodbye" and several other popular hits.

Steve, how can you tell its a 3-12J-3, and not a 3-12J-2? I'd expect a -3 or -4 to have more knobs, yes?

Wait, couldn't that one on the right be a 4-10SC combo?
(edit: "Oh, duh, I see Sunnhead already figured that out")

I guess it could be a 4-10" combo on the far right , but it sure looks like the head / top section is not as deep as the cabinet of some reason even when you zoom in !

I'd say the K200 is a K200-2, most of the knobs are left of the power switch. A K200-3, most of the knobs would be right of the power switch. the 3x12 cab the amp is sitting on could be a Jensen or CTS loaded cabinet. I've seen Jensen loaded cabs, with paper and aluminum dust caps.
The amp at the far right of the photo is a 4x10 SC series amp. I think the heavy dark shadow behind the amp does make it appear that head is not as deep as the 4x10 portion of the cab.

I also thought it looked like a head and 4x12 cabinet at first glance, but it's clearly a 4x10 SC.
I checked the yearbook, and it doesn't give a date for the concert, but it's a 1970 yearbook.

what is giving that illusion is the handle placement on the amp. Makes it look like the amp and cabinet are two different items.

The inputs on the right hand side amp show that it has to be a combo. As far as I know, there were no heads that had the inputs like that.

But I have been proved wrong many times before.
