From the chart I have it appears your bass amp was made Jul-Dec 1972 serial number range for that period shows to have been 88598-96437

Here is the copy from the information that I got your serial number from

Kustom Amplifier Serial Number Chart

(The following could contain inaccuracies if you find any, please let me know.)
Notes/Milestones/Model changes

1) approx 00001 to 6000 (approx 1964 to mid-1966) the early Kustom model numbers and serial numbers were penciled-in. (Model #'s C595, J595, C895)

2) The first 5000 Kustoms produced had larger knobs (a stove-top knob) than later models. Knob looked similar to a Radio Shack RSU 12130852.

3) The very first cabinets had all plastic handles (black), like the ones used for guitar cases and brief cases. The handle mounts are somewhat pointed and have a different screw spacing than the handle used on later Kustoms. This all plastic handle was smaller than the handle used on later Kustoms (metal band with plastic insert).

4) approx 23900 to 24700 "Ross" (example K200A) ends (approx March-May 1968) and "Kustom Electronics" (example K200B) begins (approx June 1968)

5) Somewhere between SN 467xx and 53027 (approx Oct 69 to March 70) the K100C-8 4x10 combo went from two slots on the back to four

6) Approx SN 51500 (approx. March 1970) Kustom stopped putting an external speaker jack on the K100 combo's (2x10, 4x10, etc.)

7) Approx SN 55000 (approx May 1970) stock speaker changed from Eminence to CTS (on, for example K100C-8 2x10 combo). With the change to CTS speakers, the speaker bolt pattern became slightly larger.

Cool The basic cutoff was approx SN 75000-76000 that the plexiglass-front series ends slant-front/SS series begins, but there are many exceptions.
The Kustom SS series of amplifiers (Charger, Challenger, Commander, Sidewinder, etc.) were introduced in June of 1971 at the summer NAMM show. That series of amps were manufactured after Bud Ross sold Kustom to the Baldwin Piano Company.

Hello,
I just bought a Kasino U200-1 bass head, with serial # 8708, and a Kasino 2 x 15" 4-Ohm load cabinet.
It only needed a new Selectone knob, a jewel lamp, and the usual pot-lubing with CRC 2-26.
It's HELLS-BELLS-LOUD and I'm using it with a VOX Tonelab ST effects pedal.
I'm having a tough time finding a user manual for either (I'm a provenance nut) but I'm more curious knowing when it rolled out of Kansas (or wherever).

Hello and welcome!

You need to recheck your serial number as the last time a 4 digit one was used was 1966 when the Kasino line was not even around, it will also unfortunately be unlikely that you will find a owners manual.

Also note that the -1 heads like yours are not Bass heads per say, they are just concidered non effects heads which is why they work just fine for Bass or Guitar.
