I was watching a performance of CCR playing Fortunate Son at Royal Albert Hall. It's obvious Fogerty's guitar cable goes to the "left" channel, i.e. the one with trem/vibrato etc. However, there is also a cable coming from the back of the amp, going into the "right" channel, i.e. the one with the boost and "clipper" controls.
Does anyone know what the deal is with that mystery cable going into the "dirty" channel?
I tried searching first but couldn't find anything. Not sure if I'm allowed to include YouTube links, but the video is called "Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son (At The Royal Albert Hall)" from the official CCR YT channel.
Oh I see! That makes sense. Thanks! I was wondering if he actually leveraged the "clipper" circuit for his guitar sound or not, but sounds like he maybe doesn't?

he did, the A series had all effects on one channel, so there wasn't a split preamp for the effects, that's why he plugs into the other channel for harmonica where its just your normal controls.
