I'm looking at a few Kustom heads and combos over the years and I've only got one with the Plexi faceplate and it's a purple light. I've seen a Frankie 95 head with what appears to be blue and a 150 1x12 that has a red light. My question is do the different colors tell us about the date of manufacture?

Oh and hello I'm new to the forum and will share my collection soon!

Hello and welcome!
Once early 68 came about and the K100s in both combo and piggyback along with the K200B
and K400 models all the red jewels changed to from red to the bluish purple.

I am sure there was some hang over in a few units to use up stock of some red, but with the number of amps they where churning out back then if you have a late amp of any model that Kustom was making the jewel was not red .

Jewels are easy to get even today and in one amp I worked on last year the owner had a yellow jewel in it.
