Hi. I have a question on the weight and size of a Kustom 2-15 cab and a Kustom guitar head. I need to know this to find the cost of shipping. If anyone has this set up and could give me the sizes and the weight of each piece I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Hey Bob
This might vary a little by year and based on what speakers are in it but here it is:
A K200 amp is 9 H x 25 W x 10 1/2 D and weighs 31 lbs.
A 2-15 Kustom bass speaker is 39 H x 25 W x 14 D and about 98 lbs.
A 2-15 Kustom guitar speaker is 39 H x 25 W x 12 D and about 85 lbs.
This is without packaging, so add for the boxes.

Les is right! Speakers are the main variable. I loaded some JBL E-140s in an original CTS cabinet and it made a huge difference in weight as well as sound.
Since shipping is the hidden subject....remember UPS is not the only option. There is also Fed Ex Ground.....Greyhound.....and Forward Air for large items such as 3x15s and organs. A Kustom 2x15 will not make the good rate on UPS because of height....always remove the caster plates with casters and pack them inside....or in the box with the head. The size is more appealing to UPS and it keeps them from getting ripped off the cabinet in transit. Ask me how I know this one! Another option to shipping is the ROAD TRIP! Often a seller will drive part of the way to make a deal. I have driven 11 hours each way to pick up a pristine piece rather than leave it to the mercy of shippers. A 2x15 will easily fit in the back seat of an Accord or Camry or the hatchback of a Mustang GT.......I even heard about one desperate tuck and roll fool who with the help of two equally deranged accomplices put a 3x15 cabinet INSIDE a Camry sedan! Sometimes I worry about these guys!! Many options...good luck! BC!

CW Coach Sales.....I am very familiar with it. It is the Chanute of used Funeral Coaches and run by some good folks. Great place to get a hauler for your Kustoms! Nothing like unloading a 3x15 cabinet with 3 guys on a side! We did that at a blues fest a couple of years ago.....and had everyone's attention. It adds to the effect of a large red sparkle amp! Thanks for thinking of me!BC

I forgot to mention in a previous post that some 200 heads are also heavier than others. I do not know which one Les weighed....and I am certain the difference is not much..... but a model B-1 (bass head no effects)is noticeably lighter than the B-4 guitar or B-5 PA head so if the pounds are not exactly on the mark....that could be why. Many Thanks to Les for his information! BC
