I still have the password that was sent to me. I haven't been able to change it. Every time I try the link, it tries to sign me up as a new member. Luckily, my computer stores my password and I don't need it. But, if for some reason, I need to re-enter my password, I will be screwed. It has to be easier than this. I'm with ET. All my brain cells are used up and if I need to learn something new, I need to push out the old. So far, I don't remember my kids names and my wife's name is fading fast. Also, sometimes I need to login, sometimes I don't need to. WHY?????

I'm not a fan of the new format either. Sure, I see some advantages, but overall it seems like overkill. I find I don't visit as often, partly because I see so little activity, especially from familiar folks. Maybe its just that summer activities have everyone distracted, but somehow I don't think so. I've been hanging out on the FDP lately. How about the rest of you guys and Deb?
Conrad, I'm not totally sure, but the reason for having to sign in sometimes and sometimes not, might be because of how long it's been since your last visit? I *think* the board only keeps you loged in for a few days or something.
As for the password, I think I managed to have it changed, but I'm not sure now.
I kind of like the board, but kind of don't. I like the options, but I find the option to read messages since your last visit to be kinda klugey. I'd prefer to read messages within a thread, so I can see the context of what the replies are, to the original messages.

Ok, just checked. If you go into the "User CP" and select "change password", then enter your old password, and a new one (twice), it'll change it. I then logged out, and logged back. It asked for the password and I entered the new password, which it accepted. Afterwards, I changed it back to what I've been using, and it is working still.
For those who have completely forgotten their passwords, if you request a new password, an email is sent to you. You click on the link, and a 2nd email will then be sent to you with a temp password. Not sure why they send two emails. The 2nd email won't be sent until you click on the link from the first email. Once you're logged in with the temp password, you can then reset your password to something else.

Yes, it sure seems like there's not as much going on in here since the change..... ET, email the administrator for the board, Dan's kid hayfever. He can reset your password. Another trick (I had to learn) was to just resign up, and then go into options or settings in your profile and change the idiot password they give you. It's actually called User CP, short for Control panel... ET, change it to something you will not forget, even when you have an attack of senility.... A spell checker would help me catch my typos.
