Harmonic Clipper Doesn't Work! [message #995]

I have a cascade K-200B-4 head with a harmonic clipper control that does nothing. I have heard that it's supposed to be a built-in distortion; is that true? (The controls on channel 2 are volume, bright, boost, clipper, bass, treble, and boost volume; channel one has reverb and trem, if that helps identify the model better). I took it to a local (Chicago) amp tech, but was told that A) he didn't have a schematic, and B) it would probably cost more to have fixed than it was worth. I've been toying with either selling it and looking for another like it, or keeping it and using it as is (though the non-working clipper would always bug me). Any ideas on what could be wrong with it? Does is sound like an easy fix, or not? If not, maybe someone out there in Kustom-land who works on their own amps might want to buy it and give it a try??
