TUCK AND ROLL 101 [message #2061] Sun, 27 October 2002 09:17 Go to previous message

HI GANG last night i started on my k100 rebuild. i took off the original black naugahyde tuck and roll that was on it . for those of you that like trivia there are 209 staples to remove from the head. i dont even want to take a guess on how many i will have to remove from my 2x15 cab.i am going to order the blue sparkle zodiac naugahyde tomorrow.i lucked out with the original foam strips and muslin backing. they are in really good shape after 30yrs so i can reuse them. i am taking pictures as i go so if anyone is interested in trying to do this themselves maybe the pics will help. i will start stiping the cab later on today .the hard part will be the amount of sewing thats involved and getting it right the first time hopefully. i am using the old material for a patern.when the sewing is done then i will re attatch the material to the wood shells of the head and cab the old way by spitting tacks with my trusty magnetized upholstery hammer instead of using staples.
