When i was about 15-16 my dad gifted me a bass from my grandfather and i used to sit and practice with it for a bit until i went to unplug my amp cord one day and the faceplate cracked on it . Fast forward to now and he finally gave me the history on said bass and it turns out to be a 65 kustom and im finding they are pretty rare (i think this one was also custom made for my grandpa ) . I’m looking to where i may be able to send this bass of to get that face plate fixed with original parts if possible . Any help would be appreciated .
I’m also unaware in how to post pictures in this so if anyone could help with that I’d love to upload them

Hello and welcome.
You will need to find a competent music store that does repairs or Luthier to look over the bass and make a new pick guard.
Making a new pick guard is not a hard nor crazy expensive job.
I doubt it was custom made for your Grandfather unless he had direct contacts with personnel at the factory.
Photos can not be posted up on this site .
If you go to our Literature section that’s on the left side of our main page then tap the top red tab, and then go into the Kustom color catalog, then scroll to the bottom of that page you will see what the bass and guitars look like .
Does your bass look like that?
