OK....the word is out...so I will tell the rest of the Kustom world. Everytime I wanted to haul a 3x15 or two I had to spend an hour or so pulling Soccer gear, books, McDonalds sacks and a couple of seats from the family van. With my tight schedule I needed to have a Kustom hauler ready for me! I could have gotten another minivan....or a trailer...but I didn't! It is a hearse! A 74 Cadillac Traditional Landau Funeral Coach by Miller-Meteor. It is BLACK! I could not find one in Cascade! It is hard to park, it weighs 3 tons and it gets terrible mileage...a lot like a 3x15 if you think about it! There...I said it....I'm glad I said it! So how do you haul Kustoms?? BC

Well, I don't have a hearse (Kool), but I use a GMS Safari Van that never has any seats in the back, and no kids crap........I guess I have it easy! As far as the color, Brad, just tuck and roll it in cascade! And, change the turn signals to purple......

and I thought I was going thru a mid life crisis just cause I was buying a few old amps....soon as I saw the title line on this post I started laughing my butt off cause I knew what was coming....well congrats my kustom brother on your latest acquisition...I agree it should be lined in cascade....the rest of us will have to continue to haul out toys around in U0haul trailers, but at least proud in the knowledge that out there somewhere in good ol 2001, there is still a shining ray of hope, a glimmer of our youth, going boldly where once many dreamed to tread.... I sit here quietly typing on my keyboard in a more sterily world, but with a smile on my face secure in the knowledge that all is still right with the heavens...oh speaking of heavens..my daughters made me watch the Charlie's Angels video the other night...boy what a major hollywood sorority suck party...but was cool to see kustom amps on stage at the intro and outtakes of the video...looks like a 1x15 100 and a 3x12 both in blue..wonder where those came from...playing loud..and laughing louder...God bless Brad and his kustom hauler...ET!

Well, glad to hear that Brad has taken the UNDERTAKING of figuring out a good way to haul the 3x15 cabinets. Doe's it have the roller carriage for easy removal of the cabinets? I use to transport 7 of the 3x15 cabinets, two of the 400 heads, two of the K200 heads, a kustom kombo 1 organ and a double set of rodgers drums, back when I was 17 and really liked to play loud. I converted a 1956 56 passenger school bus, converting the back end for equipment and the rest for sleeping and living area. That bus took the band and equipment to many of gigs and the only problem was lifting the organ into the back. It even got 14 miles to the gallon. Today I relie on my trailer for the full band gigs and a small van for quick jobs. The one thing I enjoy the most are are the casters on the amps and I have casters on everything, cord boxes, monitor cabinets, horn boxes, light boxes. I think I have done my tour of duty on the big stuff. Don

Do not let ET deceive you....he used to drive a hearse (excuse me, we prefer to say Funeral Coach) too!....but it was a job! Yeah guys, the back is complete with rollers, bier pins and casket stops....I even found a casket key. Now, here is the capper to the whole story.....the coach was last in service in Jan 2001 by Crowder Funeral Home (no relation) in a small TN town. Now if I can just talk them out of the name plates! Some of you have seen the pics of Foxy and myself in the 52 Caddy Coach I had back in 73-74.....so this is not the first time I have hauled tuck and roll in a formal black limo. The best news is now I have more tuck and roll to haul! BC!

Hay Don. . . can you say " Partridge Family " ? 2 3x15's will fit in the back of my 4dr Explorer if I turn them on their side. This was how I got my red PA cols to a gig back in 92 when I was still actively playing. ( I also squeezed in my K200 2x15 and my EBO, mike stand, guitar stand, acc. bag, etc. . . amazing what you can do under the circumstances ) I gotta admit though, a
( ahem ) " funeral coach " is a klass act. That could truely be a " Kustom " hauling a Kustom. . . . .

hey Deb...its that way with Brad..the more you're around him the more you'll see that this kind of coincidence thing hangs over him....and as for me...boy there are no secrets with BC around...yes I did pay part of my college by running a hearse...actually the company had several, but my fav was the old "nite hearse" that we had been retired from active processional service and was used to make hospital runs at night...she was a sweet ol 64?...a real boat, but you could feel that power under the hood...midnight blue and more than once I considered the alternative use of hauling amps in a rig like that with the easy loader slide out...I can just picture myself pulling up to a wedding gig and unloading my gear from a hearse...heck it'll probably get ya even more business..better than a million business cards. I'm envious of the school bus days, a wall of 3x15s and an organ to boot...but I was still proud this weekend to have at least my pair of 3x15s and 2x15s on stage as my PA...and I even still had fun the other night just rearranging my room so the amps are stacked and rowed differently...reminds me of glory days when music stores carried whole lines of kustoms and they would be all clustered together on the show floor. There is no other material thing in this world that holds the magic for me.. Ireally don't know why...but it has never faded..not a mid life...its a whole life deal and I'm so thrilled that we've brought it all back around including Bud and finding guys (and gals!) that share this feeling... ya'll play loud...ET!

Hi guys, I'm a new subscriber but an old junkie. Bought my first rig in '69. Now my kids have their own stuff and if you can believe it, they will stuff 2 charcoal 4x12 columns, 1 charcoal TRT100 head, I know, I know, 1 2-15 Jensen bottom in charcoal, 1 2-15 Cascade Bottom, 1 K200B1 head in Cascade and 3 Guitars, 1 bass, microphone stands and microphones, including a Shure 55SH, cords, cables and power amp in an Inferno Red PT cruiser.
