I just recently acquired a K200A-4 head that has an odd problem... When you first turn it on, everything works fine, including the effects. However, after just a few minutes it starts feeding back like crazy. This happens regardless of the set volume level or whether there is a guitar plugged in. It is not the guitar, cord, cabinet, or speaker cord, because I have a K200A-2 that works perfectly reliable with the same accessories.

Can anyone provide some suggestions for where to look for the problem first?

Thanks!

My first guess would be something with the reverb pan. Slide the amp out of the cab and unplug both RCA cables from the pan, while making note of which one went where, see if that stops it. If it does not, and you do not mind doing some soldering, then unsolder each blue wire, one at a time that goes to the driver board mounted on the rear wall of the amp. These are the output wires for each channel. You may be able to narrow it down to one of the other channel if the reverb checks out ok.

Thanks! I'll try that tonight and see what happens.

How did this turn out, if you don't mind me asking? I've got a 200 with very similar problems...
